Last March 21, 2026, tech enthusiasts, developers, and students gathered virtually for the highly anticipated Google Developer Group (GDG) Cagayan de Oro Community Day 2026. Hosted via the Bevy Virtual Meetup platform, this landmark event served as an incredible kickoff to connect local talent, celebrate innovation, and pave the way for the upcoming Build with AI 2026 initiative.
The virtual doors opened promptly at 7:00 PM with an energetic Opening & Icebreaker session. To break the digital ice, organizers treated attendees to a lively round of virtual “Bring Me,” instantly filling the virtual venue with high energy and laughter.
Following the icebreaker, Ms. Ma. Estella Bravo took the stage at 7:05 PM to present the GDG CDO Introduction. She shared the community’s inspiring vision, ongoing initiatives, and how tech passionate Higalas (friends) in Northern Mindanao can benefit from the Google Developer ecosystem.
The momentum kept building at 7:15 PM with the fiercely competitive Kahoot! Trivia Challenge!. Participants put their tech knowledge to the test, battling it out on the leaderboard for ultimate bragging rights and exclusive community rewards.
At 7:25 PM, Ms. Alyssa Vallejos led an Interactive Feedback segment, giving community members a voice to shape future tech meetups and learning tracks in the region. The evening wrapped up smoothly at 7:45 PM with a heartwarming closing remark, cementing a night to remember.
