Last July 26, 2025, the local developer community of Cagayan de Oro came alive for the highly anticipated Google I/O Extended 2025 event! Hosted by the Google Developer Group (GDG) Cagayan de Oro, this annual gathering brought the latest advancements announced at Google I/O directly to Mindanao, fueling a day of intense learning, networking, and inspiration.

The event, held at Rich Manor, Corrales Ave, was a resounding success, drawing a vibrant crowd of participants eager to explore the cutting-edge of technology. Attendees chose from various ticket tiers: Entry, Plus, and Elite, each offering exciting swag like pins, wristbands, stickers, and event shirts, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

We were honored to host Joshua de Guzman, Senior Software Engineer at dub and GDE, who shared invaluable insights on “Building Production-Ready AI Apps using Firebase Studio.” His session was a deep dive into the practical application of Google’s latest tools for integrating powerful AI features.

Joining him was Vrijraj Singh, Co-Founder & CEO of Techferment and a fellow GDE, who presented on “Smarter Browsing with Chrome’s Built-In AI Features.” These sessions truly extended the global Google I/O experience to the local audience.
